Off the Field

Although the St Louis Cardinals organization are continually focused on putting the best team out on the field year and year, their time and effort are not solely focused upon what goes on just on their field, but throughout the St. Louis Community as well. Not only do that give kids the opportunity to play baseball who may otherwise not have the chance to do so, by means of providing them with all the equipment to succeed on the field, but also the means to succeed off the field through health, education, mentoring, and many more various activities and groups. The link provided below will fill you in with other details of the organization, should you live in the St. Louis or surrounding area and you have an interest in signing up for a league next year, joining over 20 current on going leagues and over 4,500 participating kids.

REDBIRD ROOKIES

We all know cancer is a terrible and devastating disease. Many of us have had experiences with friends, family, co-workers, etc. who have gone through the struggles of fighting and surviving cancer, myself included. So it's always a pleasant moment to see someone work to establish hope, support, and an overall sense of happiness to those in need. Cardinal's pitcher Jason Motte, along with his wife, Caitlin, founded the Jason Motte Foundation, whose slogan, "Strike Out Cancer, " has helped provide care and comfort to countless people.
Jason was also recently nominated by the team to be one of thirty finalists for the Roberto Clemente Award, an award given to a player that best represents the game, on and off the field. So congrats, Jason, and continued success with the team and the foundation.

If you are interested in seeing what the Jason Motte foundation is all about, would like a cool tee shirt, or would simply like to make a donation to a worthy cause, please check out the link below.
